Most image subjects are not planned. Steven Barrymore follows his intuition to the area where the subject is located. Often travelling long distances to remote
areas on just a "feeling". The process is "almost magnetic", many times while
driving he is guided to an area where the subject to be photographed is
located.
The subject is photographed with a digital camera in RAW data file format, also
referred to as a digital negative. Post processed images are saved as a .TIF (Tagged Image Format) file.
During pre-post processing select images are reviewed for inclusion on StevenBarrymore.com. Those images chosen for post processing are developed through multiple stages. Hours of processing work can be part of the final image. Frequently the processing is done in the late evening
hours. Steven finds the solitude and calm of these late evening hours beneficial to the development of the image.
The development of an image can take days to weeks to finalize before it can be considered for inclusion onto the site. Up to 5 proof prints may be required as part of the development process.
